Steps we take to ensure EDIS data safety and security

We take data safety security very seriously. We take comprehensive data safety and security steps to ensure the data we manage is safe and secure.

Our production servers run a minimum of external daemons. All daemons are patched whenever security updates are released.
Data on our servers is stored in a RAID1 configuration, which automatically saves all data on dual redundant hard drives for reliability. We also make a daily back up of all data. In the event of a server failure, there is also a master slave configuration which provides transaction database updates between the master server and the slave server, in the event of the master failing the slave server becomes the master.
All scripts are rigorously reviewed and tested for security holes.
Servers and network are constantly monitored; network monitoring and hardware monitoring with email alerts being sent to server and network managers in the event of any problem.
Our systems and support team are all duplicated in order to eliminate single points of failure.
We do the utmost to ensure that our system is secure, but the final level of security does rely on the users. All users should choose reasonably complex passwords; a mixture of characters, numbers and letters.
Key data is encrypted before storing it on a database.
The interaction between the web servers and the browsers is via HTTPS- a secure communication protocol
