EDIS is electrical certification software for designers, constructors, electricians, facilities managers and building owners. EDIS is based on BS 7671: Requirements for electrical installations; the UK national standard for the safety of electrical installations.

EDIS provides the total enterprise electrical document and records management system. It provides tools for easily capturing and creating electrical certificates and automating the updates to the board schedules, distribution networks and other electrical distribution information.

EDIS services include: electrical data capture and data curation in order to ensures that electrical records are correctly managed for reporting on electrical risks and for risk based compliance planning.

The EDIS system allows designers, constructors, maintainers, electricians and building managers to easily share information throughout the building's handover, operations and maintenance BIM life. Ensuring that electrical certificates, electrical distribution board schedules and electrical testing dates are always up to date. All the information can be viewed in a browser or downloaded as a PDF or Excel.

IHEEM Yorkshire Branch hosted a seminar on managing Electrical compliance. The presentation will described the process efficiently planning, controlling and monitoring electrical inspection and testing programmes.

Electrical compliance management is challenging due to the complexity, size and cost of the project. However, it cannot be ignored as it is needed for statutory compliance reasons.

Smarter EI&T provides a method for achieving ongoing electrical compliance in line with statutory and BS7671 requirements.

Attendees will left the meeting with an understanding of the end to end process for ensuring that their building's electrical compliance is under control. Examples of the process was demonstrated using the EDIS software.
